How Speed Limits Have Led to Several Car Accidents
The 2014 statistics revealed that quite some people died in car accidents or after that due to injuries from car accidents in the US. Some drivers tend to ignore the essence of using the seatbelts, and so, they and up causing fatal car crashes on the roads that lead to an increase in the death toll. The rate of the car crash in the US has gone very high, and still, many people lose their lives in the wreckage.
Sources have it that 28 percent of the total wreckage reported in the US are linked with speeding. It is essential to note that there are rules which are set aside to regulate the road safety measures while using the roads. Since 2005, speeding has been observed and reported as the primary factor leading to the increasing number of people losing their life due to several car accidents. Bad weather conditions, lack of good vision, careless driving, and driving under the influence, cause car crashes the means of making the drivers go beyond the speed limit.
The government has even tried to control this problem by ensuring that the road signs are available at various points of the road. Many people normally tend to ignore such signs since they believe to know what they are doing and hence, no one should interfere with them and so, they end up in the wreckage. It cannot be claimed that the poor roads are the major cause of accidents in the US since the Government has always attempted to ensure that all main roads are in good condition and that they are kept that way.
As a matter of fact, more than 35 percent of the fatal accidents took place on roads which are not highways. It can be concluded that most drivers tend to over speed when they notice that no one is watching them and they end up causing fatal accidents. Conversely, only 29 percent of the accidents in the US take place along the highways. This can be linked with the close and strict surveillance which is normally available along the highways.
On the other hand, it has been reported that most of the car accidents today experienced were not due to speeding. When driving in low speed, some vehicles lead to accidents along the highways leading to serious injuries and even death among the road users. Reliable sources reported that 9,262 lives were lost due to vehicles moving slowly on the highway. It can be therefore concluded that not all road crashes should be attributed to drivers overs speeding on the roads.
